Volunteer with us

Volunteers at Living & Learning are a major part of our program; and volunteer their time, skills and experience and contribute to our local community.

Screening volunteers is an important step in our recruitment process and in order to protect our volunteers and users of the Centre, all volunteers are required to undergo a Police Check and Working with Children’s Check and complete Covid and Child Safe training modules before commencing at the Centre.

Additional volunteer training is required for some positions.

For more information on how to apply for volunteering please call Administration on 5941 2389 or email: admin@livinglearning.org.au

Community Garden

Our Community Garden is run by friendly volunteers from our local community. Our volunteers work together, under the direction of our Garden Co-ordinator, to develop and maintain the Community Garden.

The group meets twice a week (Monday and Friday morning) and works on various projects and maintenance within the garden,

It’s a great way to meet others, share skills and get outdoors.

Classroom Assistant

Classroom assistants support Living & Learning Pakenham’s English as an Additional Language (EAL) trainers by providing literacy and numeracy support to students in a class environment. Classroom assistants interact effectively with people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with mild disabilities and people with limited education.

Relevant past experience working within the education sector is an advantage.

African Community Homework Club

The Homework Club volunteer provides support to students in literacy, numeracy and study skills, helps build confidence, self-esteem and feelings of connection to the wider community; and provides a safe place to study.

Community Driving

Volunteer drivers are required to use their own vehicle to drive Cardinia Shire residents to medical appointments. A reliable suitable car and a clean driving history is required. Volunteer drivers are reimbursed for their kilometres travelled.
